Don’t Give Up is an incremental, minimalist and emotional game about loss. As you gain more passions, friends and dreams they become harder to manage. Each one ignoring your weakening cries as they slowly leave your circle and life. Is it possible to stop everything you love from leaving you?

1. Inspired by classic arcade games like Missile Command and incremental style games, Don’t Give Up is a short experience about losing everything that you: love, friends, family, dreams and passions alike. As you gain more and more you also risk losing just as much in an overwhelming experience of love, loss, fear and inevitability. With nothing but your weakening cries and a shrinking inner circle, is it possible to stop everything you love from leaving? Can you prevent the inevitable?
2. Use your waning cries to send your passions and friends back to your inner circle, where they belong. Triggering their unique abilities at the perfect time will help you maximise the number of friends you can save. But beware for you cannot shout forever and some friends will try to hinder your progress, making it much harder to keep the ones you love close.
3. On average it will take around 15-20 minutes to reach the end credits depending on how long you survive….
4. Don’t Give Up is a game I made to reflect how I was feeling and to try and help others process those feelings too. After leaving University and getting a full time job I felt that everything I loved was slowly leaving, friends, passions and dreams were no longer something I could keep close, something I could focus on. I always imagined and dreamed of everything I loved slowly walking away from me and so the idea for this game was born. The world was overwhelming me and so I created Don’t Give Up as a way to understand my feelings and abstract it into something others could experience and potentially relate to!
5. This game was made by myself and is my first fully independent game post University so I hope you enjoy it!! :D
