Drive Mad
Half the levels in Drive Mad aren’t really about driving — they’re about convincing a flippy, top-heavy car to cooperate while ramps, gaps, and spinning hazards conspire against you. It’s funny, it’s maddening, and finishing a level you’ve failed ten times feels genuinely earned.
About Drive Mad
You get a car and a course filled with physics-driven nonsense: steep ramps, seesaws, narrow beams, spinning wheels, and gaps that punish either too much speed or too little. Reach the finish line and the next level unlocks — that’s the whole structure.
The car’s handling is the puzzle. Gas and brake do more than move you forward and back; they shift weight, rotate the car mid-air, and decide whether you land on four wheels or on your roof. The levels are built around abusing that, so the solution is often “go slower than feels right” or “floor it and pray for a good landing.”
How to Play
Use the up arrow or W to accelerate, down arrow or S to brake and reverse. That pair controls everything, including mid-air rotation — tapping brake while airborne tips the nose down, gas tips it up, and landing wheels-first keeps the run alive.
Cross the finish line to clear a level. Flipping over isn’t always fatal if you can rock your way back upright, but falling off the course resets you. Checkpoints are rare, so most levels ask for one clean run start to finish.
Tips
- Feather the throttle on narrow beams; full speed is how cars end up on their roofs.
- In the air, you’re steering with weight — tap brake or gas to level the car before touchdown.
- When a level seems impossible, try the opposite approach: if you’ve been flooring it, crawl; if you’ve been crawling, commit.
