Balloons are coming, and the monkeys have artillery. Bloons TD5 is the tower defense game that turned popping inflatable evil into a science: place monkey towers along the track, upgrade them down branching paths and pop every bloon before it reaches the end. Simple premise, absurd depth.
About Bloons TD5
Balloons — bloons — march along a set path in waves, and your monkey towers fire at anything that comes into range. Pop a bloon enough times and it splits or pops entirely; some carry layers, some are camouflaged, some are so fast they need slowing towers in the mix. Between rounds you spend cash on new towers, upgrades and the occasional airstrike.
The strategy lives in the upgrade trees. Every tower has upgrade paths, and choosing which one to max — or whether to spread the cash thin across many cheap towers — defines your whole run. Different maps demand different answers: straight lanes love long-range snipers, winding ones reward splash damage at corners. It has the one-more-round pull of a slot machine with better math.
How to Play
Click a tower from the menu, then click on the map to place it — green spots are legal, red are not. Select a placed tower to upgrade it or change its targeting. Hit the play button to start each wave; popping bloons and surviving rounds earns cash. Some bloons require specific counters: camo bloons need towers with camo detection, leads need explosives or sharp upgrades, and MOAB-class blimps are flying fortresses that punish unbalanced defenses. Lose all lives and the run ends, so spend early cash on coverage rather than one expensive hero tower.
Tips
- Cover corners and track bends — towers get more shots at bloons that slow down or double back.
- Do not neglect cheap spam towers early; a cluster of dart monkeys beats one lonely cannon in the first twenty rounds.
- Learn the camo and lead counters before you need them. Surprise layers are the classic run-ender.
